SUORAA KATASTROFIAPUA NEPALIIN

DIRECT DISASTER AID TO NEPAL

Nepal – that mythical, mystical Shangri-La – is going through an absolute disaster and needs our help urgently.

Faithful to the main principles, ArtsKidCanDo refuses to fatten the wallets of the rampantly corrupted politicians of this amazing country and continues to support local and direct action.

Due our own long history and experiences in Nepal as well as extensive, close networks in the country we are proud to present these local superactive individuals and their hands-on approach to disaster relief.

Michael, Shishir and their friends have been arranging, organizing and coordinating help from the first earthquake onwards (the government bodies still remaining invisible); chartering helicopters with supplies, getting medical staff to the right locations and not to mention - searching for loved ones.

Direct disaster relief with no administration nor politics, locations are chosen due to their urgency. Donations and projects will be updated on Facebook and our blog regularly.

Direct donations to AKCD will be used towards the well-being of our kids home and street boys during May / June.

A warm thank you for your support.

— with Michael Bøcker-Larsen.

If people are sending things to Nepal, maybe get in touch with Shishir Sharma and his team! They've been helping people who haven't received any help/donation from the government!

Massive shopping done..since the government was not doing anything we decided we were going to charter a helicopter and sent in relief materials to the 150 people stuck at langtang without any supply. We bought basic survival materials consulting with medical professionals and rescued people from langtang ... including non perishable high calorie high protein power bars energy bars abd cereal bars..however the good news is army helicopters are conducting massive rescue today to langtang.

Whatever money you deposit here I'll spend on food/water, medicine and shelter in coordination with on ground medical and rescue staff.

Kaunis kiitos kaikista yhteydenotoista. Olemme kartoittaneet Katmandun tilannetta, saaneet kaupungin alueelta suurimman osan omista ihmisistä kiinni, maaseutu vielä pitkälti pimennossa.

Maassa rehottavan poliittisen korruption, oman vahvan historian ja kokemusten sekä läheisten paikallisten kontaktien vuoksi AKCD suosittelee lämpimästi että hätäapu ohjattaisiin paikan päällä oleville superaktiiveille (linkit yllä). Michael & Shishir ystävineen ovat olleet yötäpäivää ammattimaisesti mobilisoimassa, koordinoimassa ja järjestämässä apua lauantaista saakka paikallisten viranomaistahojen loistaessa poissaolollaan. Ilman hallinnollisia kuluja, eritellen avun kohteet ainoastaan kiireellisyyden perusteella. Yhteinen verkostomme on laaja, köyhimmistä kansanosista expat-ammattilaislentäjiin.

Lastenkodista ja katujengistä päivitystä pian - Kalpana kävelee katsomaan tilanteen Boharatarissa, täydennämme listaa katupojista jatkuvasti. Paikan päällä ollessamme ohjaamme suoraan meille tulleet lahjoitukset akuutteihin tarpeisiin touko- ja kesäkuun aikana.

Ajatukset jatkuvasti Himalajalla, lämmin kiitos tuesta.

- AKCD Crew

Same in English:

A million thanks for all the beautiful messages. We’ve been able to reach most of the loved ones in the city but certain villages in the countryside remain in the dark.

Due to the rampant corruption in the country, our own history and experiences as well as extensive, close local networks we would definitely recommend to also support these local superactive individuals (see the links below). Michael, Shishir and their friends have been arranging, organizing and coordinating help from Saturday onwards (the government bodies still remaining invisible); chartering helicopters with supplies, getting medical staff to the right locations - not to mention, searching for loved ones.

No administrative fees, no bullshit but direct, on-the-spot action. We share an extensive social network, no discrimination there, a large number of skillful individuals.

More updates from the kids home and street boys soon – Kalpana is walking to see how things are in Boharatar. We’ll coordinate the support given directly to AKCD while there, May-June.

All our thoughts in the Himalayas,

AKCD Crew
